Reachability by region

Each region runs its own request from a different part of the world. A service can be up for one continent and down for another, which is usually the first sign of a routing or CDN problem.

What Whatnot does

Whatnot is a live shopping marketplace. Sellers host livestreamed shows from the iOS and Android apps or the website, and buyers join to bid on auction-style listings in real time. When an auction timer reaches zero, the highest bidder wins and is charged on their saved payment method. Sellers then print shipping labels through Whatnot, so the platform runs the sale from stream to shipment.

What an outage looks like

The feed will not load, a live show will not open, or bids and checkouts fail. Whatnot's status page splits these into Register, Log in, Load feed, Join a Live Show, Purchase, Sell and Ship rows. Most incidents hit shipping: label creation fails with errors such as carrier_unavailable or provider_unavailable when the connection to USPS, DHL, Canada Post or another carrier breaks.

What to do about it

Open status.whatnot.com and read the row for what you are doing, since most incidents touch one row, often Ship. If whatnot.com will not load, try the app: during the July 2026 web outage Whatnot said the iOS and Android apps were unaffected and sellers could resume streams there. For carrier_unavailable or provider_unavailable label errors, Whatnot's advice is to wait a few minutes and retry.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says Whatnot is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 17 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

Whatnot outage FAQ

Is Whatnot down for everyone or just me?
Check status.whatnot.com first: if every row is operational and this page's checks of www.whatnot.com pass, the problem is probably on your side. Whatnot reports incidents per feature, so a Ship or Sell incident will not show as a full outage. Switching between Wi-Fi and mobile data, or between the app and the website, helps narrow down whether it is your connection, your device or Whatnot.
What happens to my show if my stream drops or I leave by accident?
You can restart the same show for up to two hours after it ends, instead of creating a new one. Whatnot's help center says a restart keeps the unsold listings and everyone who bookmarked the show, and moves it back to Upcoming. Restart it from Seller Hub on whatnot.com under Shows, Past, Restart Show. Followers do not get a second went-live notification, so message them if your start time moved.
Can I cancel a bid if the app glitched?
Not yourself: Whatnot's bidding rules say bids are final once confirmed and cannot be canceled or reduced. If you win, you have 24 hours to request a cancellation from the seller, who can approve or deny it. Whatnot also says it may cancel an auction when there is a clear error, such as a bid far higher than intended, so the seller can relist the item fairly.
Why can't I print a shipping label on Whatnot?
Usually because a carrier or Whatnot's label provider is having trouble, the most common incident type on Whatnot's status page. Recent ones hit USPS manifests and SCAN forms, DHL, Canada Post, Deutsche Post and ChitChats. The error code tells you which: carrier_unavailable means the chosen carrier has connectivity issues, provider_unavailable means the label provider is degraded. For both, Whatnot says wait a few minutes and try again.
How long do Whatnot outages usually last?
Whatnot's critical incidents since May 2026 have mostly been fixed within an hour. On its's status page, a multiple-services incident on June 17 was resolved in about 15 minutes and one on May 12 in under an hour, while the June 24 incident took about two and a half hours. The July 7 whatnot.com web outage lasted under two and a half hours. Carrier label incidents have run from minutes to over 14 hours.

How we measure this

  • We request Whatnot's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. We only change the verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where Whatnot publishes an official status feed we read it too. An all-clear from the vendor can soften an unconfirmed degradation; a vendor-declared outage only worsens our verdict when our own checks corroborate it.
