Measured by FlareWarden's own checks of wevideo.com from multiple regions every 6 hours. WeVideo's status page sets the verdict above when it reports trouble, but never these figures. Percentages count only checks that returned an availability answer — 16 days measured so far. A dash means that window does not yet hold enough measured days to publish a figure.

What WeVideo does

WeVideo is a video editor that runs in the browser, so editing, recording and exporting all happen on its servers rather than on the device, which is why it works on Chromebooks. Schools launch it as a Google Classroom add-on or through LMS integrations with Canvas, Schoology, Moodle, Blackboard and others. Its status page also covers PlayPosit, the interactive video tool teachers use to assign videos.

What an outage looks like

The editor grays out and shows a notice that it is trying to reconnect, the same message a dropped home connection causes. Login can fail outright. Exports sit on Processing and the download button stays grayed out. Teachers may see the Monitor page for interactive videos fail with 'Unable to get bulb assignment data'. The public website has returned 502 Bad Gateway errors on its own.

What to do about it

Check status.wevideo.com, which lists API, Website, Web app, Rendering service, the iOS and Android apps, the EU site and PlayPosit separately. The mobile app can start a project without a connection and push it to the web editor later. After an incident, cancel and restart exports or subtitle jobs left stuck, as WeVideo advised after its October 2025 outage. Contact support through wevideo.com/support or support@wevideo.com.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says WeVideo is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 17 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

WeVideo outage FAQ

Does WeVideo work offline?
No, not the web editor. WeVideo's help center says all editing, recording and publishing need a connection to its servers, and the interface grays out with a reconnecting notice when that connection drops. The WeVideo mobile app for iPhone and Android is the exception: it can start a project without necessarily needing internet, then push it to the desktop editor once you are back online.
Why is my WeVideo export stuck on processing?
Usually because rendering has not finished. The download stays grayed out with 'Processing: The video will be ready in several minutes' until it does, and exports run on the Rendering service, a separate row on the status page. If processing has finished and download is still grayed out on a school license, an administrator has likely disabled downloads, which is a setting, not an outage.
Is it WeVideo or my school's network?
If WeVideo works at home but not at school, suspect the network. WeVideo publishes an allowlist that districts must open, including wevideo.com, *.cloudfront.net and the PlayPosit domains, over HTTPS on port 443. On Chromebooks, launching through the ClassLink app can produce a white screen; WeVideo suggests signing in directly from its sign-in page in Chrome instead.
Does an AWS outage take WeVideo down?
It has. On October 20, 2025 WeVideo reported degraded performance and intermittent availability caused by the AWS us-east-1 outage, affecting its API, web app and rendering service, and closed the incident at 03:40 UTC the next day. Even after recovery it warned that some exports and subtitle jobs could be stuck and should be cancelled and restarted.
Does the check on this page measure the WeVideo editor?
No. It loads www.wevideo.com, the public website, which WeVideo tracks as its own Website component apart from the Web app, API and Rendering service. Incidents often hit one and not the others: the July 2026 Monitor page problem affected only the Web app, while two 2023 incidents were 502 errors on the public site alone.

How we measure this

  • We request WeVideo's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them. When you open this page and our last check is more than 30 minutes old, we check again on the spot; those checks update the verdict, never the availability figures.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. Our checks only change their verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where WeVideo publishes an official status feed we read it too, and the verdict is the worse of what it reports and what our checks see: a major outage of WeVideo itself is Down, trouble with one part of it is Degraded, problems at a few of a provider's many locations change nothing, and a security notice that marks nothing down is shown but changes nothing either. We check the feed every 3 minutes and read it again within minutes of any change to its incidents or components; a reading counts for 45 minutes after the last check that found nothing changed. The availability figures above are our measurement alone.
