Reachability by region

Each region runs its own request from a different part of the world. A service can be up for one continent and down for another, which is usually the first sign of a routing or CDN problem.

What Superhuman Mail does

Superhuman Mail is an email client for accounts hosted by Google or Microsoft 365, with desktop apps for Mac and Windows, a Chrome extension, and iPhone, iPad and Android apps. The mail itself stays with Google or Microsoft; Superhuman connects to it through their APIs. Since Grammarly renamed its company Superhuman in 2025, the name also covers Grammarly, Superhuman Go and Superhuman Docs.

What an outage looks like

Emails fail to send or sign-in stops working. On Outlook accounts, archive, delete or mark-done actions return a failed error, or messages marked Done reappear in the inbox. AI features such as Auto Labels, Auto Summaries and Write with AI fail while the inbox still loads. Reminders cannot be created, and changes to Split Inbox settings do not save.

What to do about it

Check status.superhuman.com, which covers Superhuman Mail only, with rows for Superhuman, Email sending, Google Apps Gmail and HubSpot APIs. Your mail is still in Gmail or Outlook, so open those directly to read and send anything urgent. If only one provider's users are affected, check Google or Microsoft status too: past Superhuman incidents were caused upstream at Microsoft, AWS and OpenAI.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says Superhuman Mail is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 17 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

Superhuman Mail outage FAQ

Is Grammarly down if Superhuman is down?
Not necessarily, because they are reported on different status pages. Since Grammarly renamed its company Superhuman, the brand covers several products, and superhuman.com/status splits them: Superhuman Mail on status.superhuman.com, Grammarly, Superhuman Go and agents on status.grammarly.com, and Superhuman Docs on status.coda.io. An incident on the Mail page says nothing about the others.
Can I still get my email when Superhuman is down?
Yes, through Gmail or Outlook. Superhuman Mail only supports accounts hosted by Google or Microsoft 365 and connects to them through their APIs, so your messages stay with your provider. Open Gmail or Outlook on the web or in their own apps to handle anything urgent. The Superhuman app also caches messages you opened, searched for or received in the last 30 days for offline use.
Why is Superhuman failing only for Outlook or only for Gmail users?
Often the problem is the provider underneath. Superhuman's incident history includes Outlook-only failures, a Microsoft send outage that ended when Microsoft fixed its side, and a separate degraded service for Gmail users. If colleagues on the other provider are working normally, check the Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 status pages as well as status.superhuman.com.
Did the emails I sent during the outage go out?
Check the sent folder in Gmail or Outlook to be sure. Superhuman documents that an email sent while your device is offline goes out once you are back online, but a service incident is different: in August 2025 an incident stopped emails from being sent at all. After recovery, confirm important messages appear in your provider's sent folder and resend any that do not.
Why are Superhuman AI features not working?
AI features can fail on their own while email keeps working. Superhuman has posted separate incidents for Auto Labels and Auto Summaries, Write with AI, and indexing new content for AI features, some traced to OpenAI or another third-party provider. In the February 2026 indexing incident, content that was already indexed was not affected. Watch the Superhuman row for the fix.

How we measure this

  • We request Superhuman Mail's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. We only change the verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where Superhuman Mail publishes an official status feed we read it too. An all-clear from the vendor can soften an unconfirmed degradation; a vendor-declared outage only worsens our verdict when our own checks corroborate it.
