Why there is no uptime figure on this page

The last time we fetched Sumsub's page directly, the origin answered and turned our client away rather than serving the page. That answer tells us the origin was reachable and responding, but it is a response about our automation, not about whether Sumsub works for you.

A percentage built from those checks would measure our own access, so we do not publish one. What this page does show is each region's most recent result and Sumsub's own status feed, which you can weigh yourself.

Edge responded means a static asset loaded. That proves the edge is up, not that the site works.

What Sumsub does

Sumsub is an identity verification and compliance platform. Businesses use it to check that new customers are who they say they are: applicants submit an ID document and a selfie through Sumsub's Web SDK or Mobile SDK, and the business can also run AML screening, tax ID validation and transaction monitoring through its API. When it fails, new customers cannot finish signing up.

What an outage looks like

The verification flow fails to load in the Web or Mobile SDK, or SDK initialization returns 403 Forbidden (July 14, 2026). Applicants can be wrongly rejected, as when a face matching fault asked them to resubmit on October 12, or one check such as international tax ID validation returns errors (October 28 to 29). On August 31 every API request failed for 13 minutes.

What to do about it

Check status.sumsub.com, linked from sumsub.com, which lists the API, Mobile SDK and Web SDK by region plus support systems. An incident at one data provider, such as AML screening or tax ID data, leaves other checks running. After the July 2026 AML screening issue, affected applicants were re-screened automatically; after the October 12 face matching fault, Sumsub suggested telling affected applicants to complete verification again.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says Sumsub is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 17 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

Sumsub outage FAQ

Is Sumsub down for everyone?
Check status.sumsub.com, which lists the API, Mobile SDK and Web SDK for each region. Most Sumsub incidents affect one check, one provider or one country rather than everything. If the page is green and only some applicants fail, ask which network they use: in October 2026 some internet providers in Vietnam blocked connections to Sumsub.
Why were applicants rejected for bad face matching?
On October 12, 2026, from 08:28 to 08:45 UTC, a fault on Sumsub's side asked applicants with a face match check to resubmit their documents. Sumsub said no action was needed on the applicant's profile: returning applicants are asked to resubmit their ID and selfie and are then verified as usual. You may want to tell them to complete verification again.
Does an AML screening provider outage affect Sumsub?
Yes, for that check. On July 20, 2026 intermittent problems at ComplyAdvantage delayed or failed AML screening for customers on the default ComplyAdvantage service, which could slow overall review. Sumsub said all applicants affected during that window were re-screened automatically.
How long do Sumsub outages last?
Usually not long. Of the last 49 resolved incidents on its status page, going back to 2022, 25 were resolved within an hour and 34 within three hours. The complete outage on August 31, 2026 lasted 13 minutes. Some third-party issues take longer: the October 2026 Vietnam connectivity problem has stayed open for weeks while Sumsub worked with the telecom providers.

How we measure this

  • We request Sumsub's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. Our checks only change their verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where Sumsub publishes an official status feed we read it too, and the verdict is the worse of what it reports and what our checks see: a major outage of Sumsub itself is Down, trouble with one part of it is Degraded, problems at a few of a provider's many locations change nothing, and a security notice that marks nothing down is shown but changes nothing either. We check the feed every 3 minutes and read it again within minutes of any change to its incidents or components; a reading counts for 45 minutes after the last check that found nothing changed, and when Sumsub blocks our checks entirely, we report the vendor's own status directly. The availability figures above are our measurement alone.
