Measured by FlareWarden's own checks of shadow.tech from multiple regions every 6 hours. Shadow PC's status page sets the verdict above when it reports trouble, but never these figures. Percentages count only checks that returned an availability answer — 12 days measured so far. A dash means that window does not yet hold enough measured days to publish a figure.

What Shadow PC does

Shadow is a Windows cloud PC: a full computer running in one of Shadow's datacenters that you stream to the Shadow app or a web browser. Gamers use it to play PC games on hardware that could not run them, and others use it as a remote work machine. Shadow places each PC in the datacenter that suits your location, and sells Shadow Drive, a separate cloud storage service.

What an outage looks like

The Shadow app will not start your PC and shows a coded error: G-468 'Your Shadow is under maintenance', L-201 or L-202 when Shadow's infrastructure is overloaded, L-200 asking you to try again in a few minutes, or a U-100 to U-299 start failure. Incidents usually hit one datacenter: an unresponsive storage server in Montreal (CAMTL01) locked 300+ users out of their PCs on October 12, 2026.

What to do about it

Find your datacenter on status.shadow.tech, which lists Dunkerque, Strasbourg, Frankfurt, Montreal, Washington DC and Portland separately, plus rows for sign-in, account, Shadow in Browser and Shadow Drive. For U-100 to U-299 or L-111 errors, shut down and wait 20 minutes; Shadow keeps repairing the PC itself. After a fix, sign out and back in. If it persists, send launcher logs to support from your account page.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says Shadow PC is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 17 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

Shadow PC outage FAQ

Is Shadow down for everyone or only in my datacenter?
Usually only in one datacenter. Shadow hosts each PC in the datacenter that gives the best performance for your location, and its status page lists six of them, from Dunkerque and Strasbourg in France to Washington DC and Portland in the US. Recent incidents named a single site, such as storage errors in Frankfurt (DEFRA01) on October 19, 2026, so read your own site's row.
What does Shadow error G-468 mean?
It means your Shadow PC is under maintenance or not ready yet. Shadow's help center lists three causes: a new subscription that is not activated, scheduled maintenance, or a reset that has not finished, in which case you wait at least 30 minutes. In October 2026 Shadow also posted two incidents where 300+ users in one datacenter were stuck in maintenance mode with G-468; Shadow restored their access within about 20 minutes.
Will I lose files on my Shadow PC during an outage?
Shadow does not say an outage deletes files, but its help center says a whole Shadow PC cannot currently be restored, and recommends backing up to Shadow Drive, another cloud storage service or a USB drive. Unsaved work is the bigger risk: if the stream closes or disconnects while the PC keeps running, Shadow shows a warning and then shuts the PC down unless you resume soon.
How long do Shadow outages usually last?
From minutes to days. In October 2026 Shadow fixed a Montreal connection failure about six minutes after posting it and restored access for users stuck in maintenance in under 20 minutes, while an unresponsive storage server in the same datacenter kept 300+ users off their PCs from October 12 to October 14. Planned storage upgrades ran in two-hour windows when some users could not reach their PCs.
Does the check on this page test my Shadow PC?
No. It loads shadow.tech/us/, Shadow's US website. It does not sign in, start a cloud PC or stream anything. Shadow's status page tracks its six datacenters, sign-in, the shop, account pages, Shadow in Browser and Shadow Drive as separate rows, so the website can answer while PCs in one datacenter refuse to start. For support, use the Support tab on your account page or email help@shadow.tech if you cannot sign in.

How we measure this

  • We request Shadow PC's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them. When you open this page and our last check is more than 30 minutes old, we check again on the spot; those checks update the verdict, never the availability figures.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. Our checks only change their verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where Shadow PC publishes an official status feed we read it too, and the verdict is the worse of what it reports and what our checks see: a major outage of Shadow PC itself is Down, trouble with one part of it is Degraded, problems at a few of a provider's many locations change nothing, and a security notice that marks nothing down is shown but changes nothing either. We check the feed every 3 minutes and read it again within minutes of any change to its incidents or components; a reading counts for 45 minutes after the last check that found nothing changed. The availability figures above are our measurement alone.
