Reachability by region

Each region runs its own request from a different part of the world. A service can be up for one continent and down for another, which is usually the first sign of a routing or CDN problem.

What Samsara does

Samsara is a connected operations platform used by fleets and other physical operations. Vehicle gateways, dash cameras and sensors report to the Samsara Cloud, where managers track GPS location, Hours of Service compliance, DVIRs, maintenance, routing and driver safety. Drivers use the Samsara Driver app for ELD logs, messages and documents. The dashboard runs as separate US, European and Canadian clouds, at cloud.samsara.com, cloud.eu.samsara.com and cloud.ca.samsara.com.

What an outage looks like

The dashboard or fleet list pages time out or load slowly, sign-in verification pages hang, and vehicle locations stop updating on the map because gateways lose their connection to the cloud. Drivers may be unable to select a vehicle when signing in to the Driver app, HOS pages may fail to load, and safety camera videos or work orders may not open. API calls can return 5xx errors.

What to do about it

Check samsarastatus.com, which has separate rows for the US, European and Canada cloud dashboards plus GPS, HOS, cameras, DVIR and APIs. Drivers should keep the Driver app open and stay signed in: it stores duty status changes, DVIRs, messages and documents on the phone and sends them when the connection returns. For urgent issues, call Samsara's 24/7 support from the dashboard's Help and Feedback menu.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says Samsara is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 17 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

Samsara outage FAQ

Is Samsara down for everyone or just me?
Check samsarastatus.com first, because Samsara runs separate US, European and Canadian clouds and an incident often affects only one of them. If your region's dashboard row is operational, the problem may be local: Samsara's own troubleshooting guide for sign-in issues covers verification codes landing in spam, blocked noreply@samsara.com senders and SSO attribute errors. The checks on this page probe www.samsara.com, the company website, so a dashboard fault on cloud.samsara.com can happen while they stay green.
Will drivers lose HOS logs or DVIRs during a Samsara outage?
No, the Driver app is built to keep working without internet. Duty status changes, DVIRs, messages and documents are saved on the phone and sent when the connection returns, and the vehicle gateway keeps recording ELD data on its own cellular link. Drivers should not sign out or force-close the app while it shows Working offline or Saving your changes, or pending work may not reach the fleet.
Why are my vehicles not updating on the Samsara map?
Either the gateways have lost their connection to the Samsara Cloud or the dashboard is lagging behind them. Samsara's status page has a dedicated GPS / Location / Map row, and its incident history includes device connectivity problems limited to particular countries or regions.
How do I contact Samsara support during an outage?
For urgent problems, phone Samsara support from the dashboard: Help and Feedback, then Get Help, Contact Support and Call us. Samsara says its in-house technical support team is available 24/7. For non-urgent issues, submit one support ticket or use chat, and include your organization name, the time and location of the problem, and the affected driver or vehicle.
How long do Samsara outages usually last?
Most are resolved within a few hours. Of the 50 most recent incidents on Samsara's status page, about two thirds were marked resolved within four hours of being opened, and only a couple stayed open for more than a day. You can subscribe to updates on samsarastatus.com by email, text message, Slack, webhook or RSS instead of refreshing the page.

How we measure this

  • We request Samsara's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. We only change the verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where Samsara publishes an official status feed we read it too. An all-clear from the vendor can soften an unconfirmed degradation; a vendor-declared outage only worsens our verdict when our own checks corroborate it.
