Reachability by region

Each region runs its own request from a different part of the world. A service can be up for one continent and down for another, which is usually the first sign of a routing or CDN problem.

What Roblox does

Roblox is a platform where users play and build games created by other users, with the client running on Windows, macOS, iOS, Android and Xbox. Its status page tracks the pieces separately: Game Join, Asset Delivery, Data Store, Studio and the Marketplace. Creators depend on the same systems players do, so a fault can stop publishing as well as playing.

What an outage looks like

Games fail at the join step with an error rather than loading, or players are disconnected mid-session and cannot rejoin. Avatars load without accessories when Asset Delivery is degraded, and in-game saves refuse to write when Data Store is affected. Roblox lists the website, the mobile app and the Xbox app on separate lines, so one client can work while another does not.

What to do about it

Read status.roblox.com, which reports Game Join, Player, Asset Delivery, Data Store, Studio and the Marketplace on separate lines, so you can tell a login problem from a game-serving one. Creators should check Creator and Studio rather than the top banner. Avoid repeatedly rejoining a failing game, since the join queue is usually the congested part, and give purchases time to settle before retrying.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says Roblox is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from all 18 regions to find out where it breaks.

Roblox outage FAQ

Is Roblox down for everyone or just me?
Check status.roblox.com before assuming a local fault, because Roblox reports the website, the mobile app and the Xbox app as separate components. A single client failing while the others work usually means the problem is that client or your network rather than the platform. If Game Join is the only affected line, players can reach Roblox but cannot enter experiences, which reads as a personal problem and is not.
Does a Roblox outage lose my game progress?
Progress that has already been written is held by Roblox and does not depend on the client staying connected. What an outage can interrupt is the write itself: Data Store is the component games use to save progress, and it is listed separately from Game Join and Player. When Data Store is degraded, recent progress in a session may not persist even though older saves are intact.
Why can I open Roblox but not join a game?
Game Join is its own component and fails independently of the website and the app. Signing in, browsing and the Marketplace all read from different systems than the one that places you into a running server, so the site can look healthy while every join attempt errors. Retrying quickly tends to make it worse, because the join path is usually the congested part during an incident.
Does an outage affect Roblox Studio and publishing?
Studio, Creator and Asset Delivery are tracked apart from the player-facing components, so creators and players can be affected at different times. Recent Roblox incidents have hit asset uploads and avatar accessory publishing while games themselves stayed playable. If your build fails to publish, read the Creator and Studio lines rather than the overall banner, which summarises the platform rather than the part you are using.

How we measure this

  • We request Roblox's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — 8 of them answered the most recent check.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. We only change the verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where Roblox publishes an official status feed we read it too. An all-clear from the vendor can soften an unconfirmed degradation; a vendor-declared outage only worsens our verdict when our own checks corroborate it.
