What Podio does

Podio is a work management platform where teams assemble their own apps out of forms, workflows and item collections rather than adopting a fixed project structure. It is used for client onboarding, recruitment pipelines and deal tracking, often as the system of record a small company runs its whole operation on. Progress Software has owned it since acquiring ShareFile in October 2024.

What an outage looks like

The web app at podio.com fails to load, or loads items without their fields populated. API calls from integrations return errors, so connected tools stop syncing. Email notifications and email-to-item forwarding stop arriving. Workflow automations either stall or fire late, which is the harder symptom to notice because nothing on screen reports that a run did not happen.

Is Podio down for everyone or just me?

Podio publishes global component status at status.podio.com, so if Web shows operational there while you cannot reach it, the cause is more likely local: DNS, a corporate proxy, or a browser extension. The measurement above probes podio.com from several regions at once, which separates a regional network path problem from a genuine Podio outage.

Do my workflow automations run after Podio comes back?

Generally late rather than never. Podio reports Advanced Workflow Automation and an Advanced Workflow Automation Failover Queue as separate components, and its published incidents describe throttling and queue delays rather than discarded runs. Let the queue drain before triggering automations again, or you will end up with duplicate items and duplicate notifications.

Does a Podio outage affect the API and integrations too?

Not necessarily. Web and API are separate components on Podio's status page and can fail independently. Integrations built on the API, including connector platforms, custom scripts and mobile apps, go through the API component, so they can keep working while the browser app is broken, or break while it is fine.

Who owns Podio now?

Progress Software. Citrix bought Podio in 2012, and Podio moved with the ShareFile business unit when Progress completed its $875 million acquisition of ShareFile on 31 October 2024. Documentation now sits on the ShareFile docs site and the automation product is branded Progress Podio Workflow Automation, which is why the naming looks inconsistent.

How we measure this

We request Podio's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them. When you open this page and our last check is more than 30 minutes old, we check again on the spot; those checks update the verdict, never the availability figures.
A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
A single failing region is treated as probe noise. Our checks only change their verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
