PlayStation Network uptime
Measured from multiple regions every 6 hours. Percentages count only checks that returned an availability answer — 20 days measured so far. A dash means that window does not yet hold enough measured days to publish a figure.

Each region runs its own request from a different part of the world. A service can be up for one continent and down for another, which is usually the first sign of a routing or CDN problem.
What PlayStation Network does
PlayStation Network is Sony's online service for PlayStation consoles. It handles account sign-in, online multiplayer, the PlayStation Store, digital game licences and streaming video. Because sign-in gates most of it, a PSN incident often stops people playing games they already own rather than merely removing online features, which is why outages draw attention well beyond the players affected.
What an outage looks like
Sign-in fails with an error code, or hangs on the sign-in screen. Online multiplayer will not connect and parties drop. The PlayStation Store fails to load or purchases will not complete. Some digital games refuse to launch when the console cannot verify a licence, which is why an outage can stop single-player games that seem to have no online component.
What to do about it
Check status.playstation.com, which reports Account Management, Gaming And Social, PlayStation Store, PlayStation Video and PlayStation Direct as separate services, broken down by console generation. Account Management being degraded explains sign-in failures even when Gaming And Social looks healthy. Setting your console as the primary PS5 or PS4 for your account allows offline play of digital titles, which is worth doing before the next incident rather than during it.

How we measure this
- We request PlayStation Network's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — 8 of them answered the most recent check.
- A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A
403or429means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage. - A single failing region is treated as probe noise. We only change the verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
- Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
- Where PlayStation Network publishes an official status feed we read it too. An all-clear from the vendor can soften an unconfirmed degradation; a vendor-declared outage only worsens our verdict when our own checks corroborate it.
