What Payoneer does

Payoneer is a cross-border payments account used by freelancers, online sellers and agencies to receive money from overseas clients and marketplaces, hold balances in several currencies and withdraw to a local bank. Businesses also use its mass payout service to pay contractors and suppliers at scale, and connect to it through an API with webhook notifications.

What an outage looks like

Sign-in fails, or the dashboard loads without balances, so it is unclear whether a payment arrived. Withdrawals to a bank account error at submission or sit without confirmation. New account registration and verification steps stall part-way through. API calls return errors and webhook notifications stop arriving, so systems that create payouts programmatically appear to succeed locally while nothing actually moves.

What to do about it

Check status.payoneer.com, which lists the API, mass payout account, Payments, Registration, the Payoneer account itself and webhook delivery as separate components, so an API-only incident is distinguishable from one affecting the dashboard. Do not resubmit a withdrawal that gave no confirmation until balances load correctly, because a duplicate transfer is slower to reverse than a delayed one is to complete.

Is my money safe during a Payoneer outage?

An outage affects access rather than balances. Funds already credited to your account remain recorded even when the dashboard will not display them, and payments in transit from a marketplace continue to arrive on the sender's schedule. What an incident changes is your ability to see and move money, so treat an empty or stale balance screen as a display problem until the status page says otherwise.

My webhook never arrived. Was the payment created?

Check through the API or the dashboard rather than assuming either way. Payoneer reports webhook delivery as its own component, so notifications can stop while payments themselves are processed normally, and the reverse is also possible. Reconcile against the account record once the incident clears instead of re-issuing payouts from your own system, which is how duplicates usually get created.

Can I still receive payments from clients while Payoneer is down?

Usually yes. Money sent to your receiving accounts is handled by the sending bank or marketplace and lands when their transfer completes, which is rarely the same moment you can see it. Registration and Payments are separate components, so trouble signing up or logging in does not by itself stop inbound funds from being credited to you.

Does a Payoneer API outage stop mass payouts?

It can, and the two are tracked separately. The API and the mass payout account are distinct components, so batch payouts can fail while the ordinary dashboard works. If a batch errored, confirm which payments within it actually executed before resubmitting, because partial batches are common and re-sending a whole file pays some recipients a second time.
