Measured by FlareWarden's own checks of my.nanit.com from multiple regions every 6 hours. Nanit's status page sets the verdict above when it reports trouble, but never these figures. Percentages count only checks that returned an availability answer — 13 days measured so far. A dash means that window does not yet hold enough measured days to publish a figure.

What Nanit does

Nanit makes smart baby monitor cameras and the Nanit app parents use to watch a live feed at home or remotely, get sound and motion notifications, run Breathing Motion Monitoring and track sleep through Nanit Insights. Paid Insights plans add video clips and video history. The camera streams to phones on the home Wi-Fi, while remote viewing, sleep data and push notifications depend on Nanit's cloud, which runs on AWS.

What an outage looks like

The remote live feed will not load, logins and camera pairing fail, Insights sleep data arrives late and notifications such as baby standing go missing; a May 13, 2026 disruption hit all of these for about three hours. During the October 20, 2025 AWS outage users could not log in with MFA or register, and on August 31, 2026 password reset and account emails stopped overnight.

What to do about it

Check status.nanit.com, which splits the app into User Login, Local Livestream, Remote Livestream, Push Notifications and Insights. If only cloud features are down, connect your phone to the camera's Wi-Fi: Nanit says the local feed and Breathing Motion alerts then work without internet. If the app cannot reach the camera, reboot it from Settings, Advanced Settings, or unplug the camera head for one minute.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says Nanit is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 17 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

Nanit outage FAQ

Can I still watch my Nanit camera when Nanit's servers are down?
Usually, if you are home on the same Wi-Fi as the camera. During the May 13, 2026 service disruption, Nanit's status page told users they could still view the live feed locally, and it tracks Local Livestream separately from Remote Livestream. Viewing from outside the home, including web streaming on my.nanit.com, needs the cloud. A Nanit Pro allows four local connections at once, a Nanit Plus two.
Does Breathing Motion Monitoring work without internet?
Yes, on the home network. Nanit's help center says that on the same Wi-Fi as the camera you do not need an internet connection to start or stop a session, see the monitoring status or get alerts on your phone. Away from home you need internet to start one. If no connection is available at all, the camera keeps monitoring as long as it has power, but alerts then come from the camera only.
Will I still get alerts if the app cannot connect to my Nanit camera?
From the camera, yes; on your phone, no. Nanit's help center says a monitoring session in progress continues as long as the camera is connected to power and alerts may still play through the camera, but phone alerts need an active connection to it. The app shows 'Trying to reconnect' in this state; Nanit suggests rebooting the camera and contacting support if the connection stays lost.
How do I contact Nanit support during an outage?
Call 1-866-MYNANIT or email help@nanit.com. Nanit's help center lists support hours of 11am to 9pm EST Monday to Friday and 12pm to 9pm EST on weekends, and the status page shows the same phone number next to support.nanit.com. Check status.nanit.com before re-pairing a camera: Nanit has advised waiting until maintenance ends before setting up or re-pairing one.
What does the check on this page measure?
It loads my.nanit.com, Nanit's web app for viewing a camera from a browser, which status.nanit.com also tracks as its own component. A green result means that sign-in page answers from our probe regions. It does not test the live feed, Breathing Motion Monitoring or phone notifications, and local viewing on your home Wi-Fi works without it. For those, read the matching component on status.nanit.com.

How we measure this

  • We request Nanit's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them. When you open this page and our last check is more than 30 minutes old, we check again on the spot; those checks update the verdict, never the availability figures.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. Our checks only change their verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where Nanit publishes an official status feed we read it too, and the verdict is the worse of what it reports and what our checks see: a major outage of Nanit itself is Down, trouble with one part of it is Degraded, problems at a few of a provider's many locations change nothing, and a security notice that marks nothing down is shown but changes nothing either. We check the feed every 3 minutes and read it again within minutes of any change to its incidents or components; a reading counts for 45 minutes after the last check that found nothing changed. The availability figures above are our measurement alone.
