Measured by FlareWarden's own checks of monarch.com from multiple regions every 6 hours. Monarch Money's status page sets the verdict above when it reports trouble, but never these figures. Percentages count only checks that returned an availability answer — 17 days measured so far. A dash means that window does not yet hold enough measured days to publish a figure.

What Monarch Money does

Monarch, whose status page still carries the Monarch Money name, is a personal finance app for the US and Canada on the web, iOS and Android. It pulls bank, credit card, loan and investment accounts into one view for budgets, goals and reports, shared across a household. Accounts sync through three data providers, Plaid, MX and Mastercard Data Connect (formerly Finicity), so it depends on them and on each bank.

What an outage looks like

In recent incidents the web and mobile apps returned intermittent errors (August 30, 2026), and an MX fault on web stopped people connecting new accounts, updating login settings or fixing disconnected credentials (August 26-27, 2026). A third-party outage on October 20, 2025 blocked new signups and broke billing, including cancellations. A bank-side sync problem looks different: one account shows as disconnected, with missing transactions or an old balance.

What to do about it

Check status.monarch.com, which lists the Web app, Mobile Applications, API and Browser Extensions separately, with Plaid, MX, Finicity and Stripe rows under Third Party Services. If only one bank is affected, look it up on monarch.com/connection-status, then try Settings, Institutions, the three dots, Update login settings. After a connection error Monarch suggests waiting 24 hours before reconnecting, or trying a different data provider.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says Monarch Money is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 17 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

Monarch Money outage FAQ

Is Monarch down, or is it just my bank connection?
If one institution shows as disconnected or stale while the app loads, it is most likely the connection, not Monarch. Monarch says connections can be inconsistent when a bank limits third-party access or requires regular reconnections. Its public Connection Status Dashboard, updated once a day, rates each institution and data provider pair. If the web and mobile apps both fail, check status.monarch.com.
Will I lose transactions if I switch a connection's data provider?
No, according to Monarch: transactions, balances and history stay with your accounts, and the new connection picks up where the old one left off. Two catches. A switch cannot be undone, and MX does not send investment holdings, so moving an investment account to MX removes its holdings and cost basis for good. On the web, the Switch provider option is under Settings, Institutions.
Which data providers does Monarch use?
Plaid, MX and Mastercard Data Connect, which Monarch notes was formerly Finicity. When you connect an institution, Monarch suggests the provider that has historically connected to it best, and you can pick a different one. Homes connect through Zillow and vehicles through Vinaudit. The status page has its own rows for the Plaid API, MX Integration and Finicity Integration under Third Party Services.
Why do I have to log in again after the move from monarchmoney.com?
Monarch moved its address from monarchmoney.com to monarch.com, and its help center says you may need to log in again on the web. Sign in at app.monarch.com with your usual method, Google, Apple, or email and password. Old links redirect automatically, but update the saved URL in your password manager so it autofills on the new login page. Support is at support@monarch.com.
How long do Monarch outages usually last?
Most recent ones were short. A February 10, 2026 third-party billing disruption lasted 22 minutes, intermittent web and mobile errors on August 30, 2026 lasted 1 hour 53 minutes, and the October 20, 2025 third-party outage lasted 4 hours 54 minutes. Mobile app bugs run longer: an Android navigation menu fault in version 2.0.122 stayed open about 50 hours, until version 2.0.123 rolled out on Google Play.

How we measure this

  • We request Monarch Money's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them. When you open this page and our last check is more than 30 minutes old, we check again on the spot; those checks update the verdict, never the availability figures.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. Our checks only change their verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where Monarch Money publishes an official status feed we read it too, and the verdict is the worse of what it reports and what our checks see: a major outage of Monarch Money itself is Down, trouble with one part of it is Degraded, problems at a few of a provider's many locations change nothing, and a security notice that marks nothing down is shown but changes nothing either. We check the feed every 3 minutes and read it again within minutes of any change to its incidents or components; a reading counts for 45 minutes after the last check that found nothing changed. The availability figures above are our measurement alone.
