Measured by FlareWarden's own checks of modrinth.com from multiple regions every 6 hours. Modrinth's status page sets the verdict above when it reports trouble, but never these figures. Percentages count only checks that returned an availability answer — 37 days measured so far. A dash means that window does not yet hold enough measured days to publish a figure.

What Modrinth does

Modrinth is an open-source platform for Minecraft content: mods, modpacks, resource packs, data packs, shaders and plugins. Players install them through the Modrinth App or through launchers such as ATLauncher, MultiMC and Prism Launcher, which connect to Modrinth's public API. Creators publish projects and earn ad revenue from their pages, and Modrinth Hosting runs multiplayer servers.

What an outage looks like

Modrinth's status page tracks API, Version API, Website, CDN, Search and Launcher Meta separately, and most incidents hit one or two of them rather than everything. Because launchers fetch projects through the API, an API fault stops installs and updates in the Modrinth App and third-party launchers even while modrinth.com loads. App errors such as Error fetching URL are usually a slow or blocked connection, not an outage.

What to do about it

Check status.modrinth.com and note which of its six rows is red, since that shows whether downloads, search or the website is affected; an API or CDN fault stops installs in every launcher that uses Modrinth, so switching launcher will not help. If every row is green, lower Maximum concurrent downloads in the app settings, then ask at support.modrinth.com or in the Modrinth Discord linked from the status page.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says Modrinth is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 17 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

Modrinth outage FAQ

Is Modrinth down or is it my connection?
If status.modrinth.com shows every component operational, the fault is more likely your connection. Modrinth's help center links errors such as end of file before message length reached and Error fetching URL mainly to slow internet, and suggests lowering Maximum concurrent downloads. It also notes some ISPs and regions block Microsoft servers the app needs, in which case a VPN can help.
Why does Minecraft say Invalid session in the Modrinth App?
Invalid session means the access token the Modrinth App passed to Minecraft is stale, so multiplayer servers reject you. Restart the game and the app, which should refresh the token. If that fails, sign out of your Minecraft account in the app and back in. If it still fails, Modrinth suggests checking whether Mojang's authentication servers are down and trying the official Minecraft Launcher.
Why can't I sign in to Minecraft in the Modrinth App?
Most sign-in failures are local rather than a Modrinth outage. Modrinth lists signing in to Modrinth instead of Minecraft, network or firewall blocks, Xbox services disabled by Windows debloat scripts, an account with no Xbox profile or Minecraft license, and a wrong system clock. Repeated attempts can also hit a rate limit, so wait before retrying.
Does a Modrinth outage affect other launchers?
Yes, for anything they fetch from Modrinth. ATLauncher, MultiMC, Prism Launcher and the Modrinth App all integrate through Modrinth's API, so an API outage blocks searching, installing and updating Modrinth projects in each of them. Lunar Client's own status page lists Modrinth among its external dependencies, and shows a Modrinth/CurseForge Proxy among its own features.
How long do Modrinth outages usually last?
Most are over within minutes. Modrinth's status page records incidents automatically and keeps the history, and many recent API, Version API and Search faults closed in under 20 minutes. Longer ones do happen: in 2026 Search was down for about two hours in one incident and the API for about seven hours in another, so check the incident history on the status page for the current one.

How we measure this

  • We request Modrinth's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them. When you open this page and our last check is more than 30 minutes old, we check again on the spot; those checks update the verdict, never the availability figures.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. Our checks only change their verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where Modrinth publishes an official status feed we read it too, and the verdict is the worse of what it reports and what our checks see: a major outage of Modrinth itself is Down, trouble with one part of it is Degraded, problems at a few of a provider's many locations change nothing, and a security notice that marks nothing down is shown but changes nothing either. A reading counts for 45 minutes; we read the feed again within minutes of any change to its incidents. The availability figures above are our measurement alone.
