Measured by FlareWarden's own checks of medal.tv from multiple regions every 6 hours. Medal's status page sets the verdict above when it reports trouble, but never these figures. Percentages count only checks that returned an availability answer — 37 days measured so far. A dash means that window does not yet hold enough measured days to publish a figure.

What Medal does

Medal is a free app for recording and sharing video game clips, run by Medal B.V. The Windows app sits in the background while you play, saves the last few seconds or minutes when you press a hotkey, and gives you a link to share anywhere. It auto clips events in games such as Fortnite, Valorant and Counter-Strike, and mobile apps let you watch and post clips.

What an outage looks like

The Medal app shows a banner reading We're currently experiencing server issues. Things might not work as expected. Uploads fail with Uh oh! Looks like we're having trouble uploading your clip, and a fault in the Medal CDN or website component stops clips or medal.tv itself from loading. Missing icons and blank thumbnails on one PC usually point to a VPN or Cloudflare WARP rerouting traffic rather than an outage.

What to do about it

Check status.medal.tv, which tracks the Medal API, Medal CDN, the medal.tv website and Quests separately. Clips are saved as MP4 files on your PC as well as in the cloud, so right-click a clip and choose Open File Location to reach the local copy. Retry uploads once the API is green. Support is at help@medal.tv or @MedalTVSupport on X, with replies in 24 to 72 hours.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says Medal is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 17 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

Medal outage FAQ

Is Medal down for everyone or just me?
Check status.medal.tv first: if the Medal API, Medal CDN and medal.tv are all operational, the fault is probably on your side. Medal's support guides point at a VPN or Cloudflare WARP when icons, thumbnails or clips will not load, and at an out-of-sync system clock or an unstable connection when uploads fail. Pressing Ctrl + R in the app reloads the interface and its assets.
Are my Medal clips lost during an outage?
Clips you have already recorded should not be. Medal says files are saved in MP4 format locally and to the cloud, so a clip on your PC does not depend on the servers. Right-click the clip in Medal and choose Open File Location to find it in your Clips folder. Medal notes that a file which will not play there is corrupt and cannot be restored by support.
Why won't my Medal clip upload?
A failed upload is often local rather than a Medal outage. Medal's guide says a PC clock that is out of sync can make servers reject requests, and a slow or unstable connection can make the app think you are offline. Press Ctrl + Alt + i, open the Console tab, and look for ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED, ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED or ERR_NETWORK_DISCONNECTED. If status.medal.tv shows the API down, wait instead.
What does the Medal server issues banner mean?
It means Medal itself is having trouble, not your PC. The app shows We're currently experiencing server issues. Things might not work as expected when its servers or API are failing, and Medal's help article links that banner straight to its status page. Other banners, such as a session expired message, are fixed locally by restarting Medal, and disk space warnings by clearing space.
How do I contact Medal support during an outage?
Email help@medal.tv or open a ticket through the chat bot on support.medal.tv; Medal says its team typically replies within 24 to 72 hours. Quick questions can go to @MedalTVSupport on X, and a support bot runs on Medal's Discord server, where Premium users can also chat with staff. During a known outage, the status page is faster than a ticket.

How we measure this

  • We request Medal's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them. When you open this page and our last check is more than 30 minutes old, we check again on the spot; those checks update the verdict, never the availability figures.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. Our checks only change their verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where Medal publishes an official status feed we read it too, and the verdict is the worse of what it reports and what our checks see: a major outage of Medal itself is Down, trouble with one part of it is Degraded, problems at a few of a provider's many locations change nothing, and a security notice that marks nothing down is shown but changes nothing either. We check the feed every 3 minutes and read it again within minutes of any change to its incidents or components; a reading counts for 45 minutes after the last check that found nothing changed. The availability figures above are our measurement alone.
