Datto SaaS Protection - M365 Backup Performance Degradation - Post-Graph Migration

major monitoring

Backup success rates have largely returned to normal operating levels and remain stable across SaaS Protection environments. The vast majority of customer accounts are processing backups successfully, while ongoing optimization efforts continue to further improve consistency across the platform. As part of these improvements, backup cadence has now been standardized across all Microsoft 365 workload types and environments to three backups per day. Engineering teams will continue to monitor platform performance closely to ensure sustained stability and reliability.

Components the vendor reports as affected: SaaS Protection Backups Degraded Performance

A component listed here does not necessarily mean a full outage — large providers routinely report maintenance on individual locations. It only affects the verdict above when the vendor marks it major or critical and our own checks also saw Kaseya fail from enough regions to rule out probe noise.

Reachability by region

Each region runs its own request from a different part of the world. A service can be up for one continent and down for another, which is usually the first sign of a routing or CDN problem.

What Kaseya does

Kaseya sells IT management software to managed service providers and internal IT teams. Its portfolio includes Datto RMM, Autotask PSA, IT Glue, VSA, Datto backup and continuity devices, Spanning backup and security products such as Datto EDR and INKY. An MSP can run monitoring, ticketing, documentation and backup for many client businesses on it, so one incident can reach many companies at once.

What an outage looks like

Technicians cannot reach the Datto RMM or VSA console, so remote sessions, scripts and patching stop for every client at once. Autotask PSA tickets will not open or save, and IT Glue documentation is unavailable exactly when it is needed. Backup devices or endpoint agents fail to check in, which later shows as missed backups. Usually one product or one regional platform is affected while the rest work.

What to do about it

Open status.kaseya.com, find your product's group, then the platform or region your account runs on: Datto RMM platforms are listed by name, Autotask PSA by region, IT Glue by North America or European Union, and VSA 9 by server. A green row elsewhere says nothing about yours. Tell clients about any gap in monitoring or backups, and confirm backups resumed after recovery.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says Kaseya is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 17 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

Kaseya outage FAQ

Why does status.kaseya.com show an incident when everything works for me?
Because the page covers dozens of products and regions. Kaseya lists Datto RMM platforms, Autotask PSA regions, IT Glue regions, VSA servers, backup products and security tools as separate rows. An incident on one of them does not affect an MSP whose tenant runs somewhere else. Find the exact product and region your account uses and read only that row.
Is Datto on the same status page as Kaseya?
Yes. Datto RMM, Datto BCDR Devices, Datto EDR, Datto SaaS Protection, Datto Networking, Datto Workplace, Datto File Protection and the Datto Partner Portal all appear on status.kaseya.com, alongside Autotask PSA, IT Glue, Spanning and RocketCyber. There is one page to check for the whole portfolio, and status.datto.com redirects to it.
Did my clients' backups run during the outage?
Check rather than assume. The status page reports device check-in and backup rows separately for Datto BCDR Devices, Endpoint Backup and SaaS Protection, so backups can be affected while the consoles work, or the reverse. Once service returns, review each client's last successful backup and start one by hand wherever a scheduled run was missed.
Is Kaseya down for everyone or just me?
This page measures kaseya.com from several regions, which tells you whether the company's public site is reachable. Your RMM or PSA tenant runs on its own platform, so its row on the status page is the better guide to your tools. If both are green, check your own network and whether your agents can reach the internet.

How we measure this

  • We request Kaseya's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. We only change the verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where Kaseya publishes an official status feed we read it too. An all-clear from the vendor can soften an unconfirmed degradation; a vendor-declared outage only worsens our verdict when our own checks corroborate it.
