Each region runs its own request from a different part of the world. A service can be up for one continent and down for another, which is usually the first sign of a routing or CDN problem.
What Granola does
Granola is an AI notepad for meetings. Its desktop app for macOS and Windows transcribes calls from your computer's microphone and system audio, with no bot joining the meeting, and its iPhone and Android apps transcribe from the phone's microphone. After the call it combines the transcript, your own notes and the calendar event into AI-enhanced notes.
What an outage looks like
Login pages do not load, notes stop syncing, or enhanced notes fail to generate at the end of a meeting while the transcript itself is fine. If Granola cannot reach its transcription servers, an orange warning says it is having trouble transcribing and nothing new is captured. Granola Chat can fail on its own. The status page lists Desktop App, Mobile App, Web notes, API and webhooks, and MCP separately.
What to do about it
Check status.granola.ai. If transcription has stopped mid-meeting, type notes into the note by hand, because Granola does not keep audio recordings to transcribe later. Notes are cached on your device and editable offline. After recovery, click retry on any note that failed to generate, or regenerate it from the Enhanced tab. Restarting Granola resets its connection to the transcription servers.
Is it down for everyone, or just you?

How we measure this
- We request Granola's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them.
- A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A
403or429means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage. - A single failing region is treated as probe noise. We only change the verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
- Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
- Where Granola publishes an official status feed we read it too. An all-clear from the vendor can soften an unconfirmed degradation; a vendor-declared outage only worsens our verdict when our own checks corroborate it.
