What Dropout does

Dropout is a subscription streaming service for comedy, built by the team behind CollegeHumor and known for shows including Dimension 20 and Game Changer. Subscribers watch on the web and through mobile and television apps, and the service also runs a merchandise store. It is a small independent platform rather than one of the large studio-backed services.

What an outage looks like

Video will not start, or stops partway and fails to resume, while the rest of the site loads normally. The player shows a loading state that never resolves. Check watch.dropout.tv on status.dropout.tv, which is a component separate from the main dropout.tv site. Playback runs on its own infrastructure, so browsing, account pages and the schedule can all work while video fails. This split is the most common shape of a Dropout incident, and it is why the site looking fine proves very little.
Is it Dropout or my internet connection?
Try another network first, such as mobile data instead of home broadband, and try a second device. Streaming is far more sensitive to a weak connection than ordinary browsing, so video failing while pages load is often local rather than a service outage. If status.dropout.tv shows all three components operational, your connection is the likelier cause.
Does the Dropout app work when the website is down?
