DreamHost uptime
Measured from multiple regions every 6 hours. Percentages count only checks that returned an availability answer — 18 days measured so far. A dash means that window does not yet hold enough measured days to publish a figure.

Each region runs its own request from a different part of the world. A service can be up for one continent and down for another, which is usually the first sign of a routing or CDN problem.
What DreamHost does
DreamHost is a web hosting provider running shared hosting, managed WordPress under the DreamPress name, VPS and dedicated servers, alongside domain registration, email hosting and the DreamObjects and DreamCompute cloud products. Customers reach it through the DreamHost panel, and their visitors reach it through whatever site it serves, which is usually where an incident becomes visible first.
What an outage looks like
Sites return 500 errors, connection timeouts or a hosting error page instead of your content, and the WordPress dashboard fails to load while cached front-end pages still serve. Databases refuse connections, producing the 'error establishing a database connection' message. Webmail and email hosting can fail while websites are fine, and the panel and billing may be unreachable while everything customer-facing stays up.
What to do about it
Check www.dreamhoststatus.com, which status.dreamhost.com redirects to. It reports Web Hosting, DreamPress, VPS, Dedicated, Database Hosting, Email Hosting, Webmail, the Web Panel, Billing, Domain Registrations and DreamObjects separately, so a database incident is distinguishable from a web one. Scheduled maintenance is posted there in advance. If only your own site is affected, DreamHost publishes a per-site checklist to work through before opening a ticket.
Is it down for everyone, or just you?
If this page says DreamHost is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from all 18 regions to find out where it breaks.

How we measure this
- We request DreamHost's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — 8 of them answered the most recent check.
- A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A
403or429means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage. - A single failing region is treated as probe noise. We only change the verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
- Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
- Where DreamHost publishes an official status feed we read it too. An all-clear from the vendor can soften an unconfirmed degradation; a vendor-declared outage only worsens our verdict when our own checks corroborate it.
