Reachability by region

Each region runs its own request from a different part of the world. A service can be up for one continent and down for another, which is usually the first sign of a routing or CDN problem.

What DraftKings does

DraftKings runs daily fantasy sports contests, a sportsbook and an online casino across the US states where each product is licensed. Users fund an account, enter contests or place wagers, and withdraw winnings through the same balance. Because lineups and bets are tied to the start of real games, availability matters most in the minutes before a kickoff.

What an outage looks like

DraftKings tracks seven components that fail independently, so trouble is usually confined to one product or one platform. The sportsbook can be affected while daily fantasy works, or both mobile apps while the websites are fine. Scoring and Feeds is its own component, so live scores and contest standings can freeze while bets still place, and Payments can fail on deposits and withdrawals on their own.

What to do about it

Check status.draftkings.com, which lists Fantasy Website, Sportsbook Website, Fantasy Mobile, Sportsbook Mobile, Scoring and Feeds, Payments and Casino separately, so you can see which product is affected rather than guessing. The page offers updates by email, RSS, webhook and Slack, and keeps a status history view. For anything account-specific, such as a wager that did not register, it directs users to draftkings.com/help/contact-us.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says DraftKings is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from all 18 regions to find out where it breaks.

DraftKings outage FAQ

Is DraftKings down, or just the sportsbook?
They are tracked separately, so read the specific line. DraftKings lists Fantasy Website, Sportsbook Website, Fantasy Mobile, Sportsbook Mobile, Scoring and Feeds, Payments and Casino as distinct components on status.draftkings.com. A sportsbook outage does not imply daily fantasy is affected, and a problem on the web does not imply the apps are, so the overall impression can be misleading.
Why are live scores frozen when the app itself works?
Scoring and Feeds is a separate component from the websites and the apps. DraftKings tracks the data feed behind live scoring and contest standings on its own line, so the app can load and navigate normally while scores and leaderboards stop updating. Check the Scoring and Feeds row on status.draftkings.com before concluding that the contest itself is broken.
Can I deposit or withdraw during a DraftKings outage?
Payments is its own component, so it can fail while the rest of the platform works and can work while the sportsbook is down. If the Payments line is flagged, wait rather than retrying a deposit repeatedly, since duplicate attempts are harder to reconcile afterwards. DraftKings routes account and transaction questions to draftkings.com/help/contact-us rather than handling them on the status page.
Will DraftKings tell me when a service is restored?
You can subscribe on the status page instead of waiting for an announcement. status.draftkings.com offers updates by email, RSS feed, webhook and Slack, and keeps a status history view alongside the current state. Subscribing to the product you actually use avoids being alerted about the casino or fantasy components when only the sportsbook matters to you.

How we measure this

  • We request DraftKings's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — 8 of them answered the most recent check.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. We only change the verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where DraftKings publishes an official status feed we read it too. An all-clear from the vendor can soften an unconfirmed degradation; a vendor-declared outage only worsens our verdict when our own checks corroborate it.
