What Deel does

Deel handles global payroll, contractor payments and employer-of-record hiring, letting companies pay people in countries where they have no legal entity. It also carries HR records, time off, expenses and background checks. Because money movement and employment records sit in the same product, an incident can be an administrative annoyance or a missed payday depending on which part fails.

What an outage looks like

app.deel.com fails to load or stalls after sign-in. The consequential failures are in the payments tree, where Employer Payments, Worker Payments and Invoicing are tracked separately, so funding a payroll run and workers receiving money can fail independently. Integrations with HR and accounting systems stop syncing quietly, and tax document generation can fail while the rest of the app works.

What to do about it

Open status.deel.com and read the specific component rather than the top banner. Payments, Payroll, Deel HR, Integrations, Deel IT and the Deel Developer API are separate trees, with Global Payroll, EOR, PEO and Tax Documents beneath Payroll. If a pay date is close, tell affected workers what the status page says, and avoid resubmitting a payment that may already have been accepted.

Will workers still get paid if Deel is down?

It depends which component is affected, and Deel splits them for exactly this reason. Employer Payments, Worker Payments and Invoicing are separate rows under Payments, so an incident blocking employers from funding a run is different from one stopping payouts already in flight. Check the specific row before telling anyone their pay is delayed.

Is my payroll run lost if the outage hits a cutoff?

Deel does not publish cutoff handling on its status page, so treat a run submitted during an incident as unconfirmed rather than failed. Do not resubmit blindly, because a request that appeared to fail may already have been accepted and a duplicate payroll run is far harder to unwind than a late one. Confirm the run's state once the component is operational.

EOR and contractor payments behave differently. Why?

They are different products with separate components. Deel lists Global Payroll, EOR, PEO and Individual Contributor beneath Payroll, each tracked on its own. An employer-of-record employee and a self-billing contractor are processed through different paths, so an incident can stop one population being paid while the other is unaffected.

My HR integration stopped syncing. Is that the same outage?

Possibly, and it is easy to miss. Deel reports HR Integrations and Accounting Integrations as their own components under Integrations. Those fail quietly, since a sync that does not run produces no error in either system, and the first visible sign is usually stale headcount or missing journal entries. Check the integration component rather than assuming the app being up means data is flowing.

Can I still download tax documents during an outage?

Tax Documents is a component in its own right beneath Payroll, so it can fail while the rest of the app works, or stay available during an incident elsewhere. If a filing deadline is close, check that specific row. Documents already downloaded are on your own machine and are unaffected by anything happening on Deel's side.

How we measure this

We request Deel's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them. When you open this page and our last check is more than 30 minutes old, we check again on the spot; those checks update the verdict, never the availability figures.
A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
A single failing region is treated as probe noise. Our checks only change their verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
Where Deel publishes an official status feed we read it too, and the verdict is the worse of what it reports and what our checks see: a major outage of Deel itself is Down, trouble with one part of it is Degraded, problems at a few of a provider's many locations change nothing, and a security notice that marks nothing down is shown but changes nothing either. A reading counts for 45 minutes; we read the feed again within minutes of any change to its incidents. The availability figures above are our measurement alone.
