No downtime Partial Downtime Not measurable No data

Measured by FlareWarden's own checks of carta.com from multiple regions every 6 hours. Carta's status page sets the verdict above when it reports trouble, but never these figures. Percentages count only checks that returned an availability answer — 10 days measured so far. A dash means that window does not yet hold enough measured days to publish a figure.

What Carta does

Carta is equity and fund management software for private companies, their employees and investors. Companies keep their cap table on Carta and use it to issue equity, manage stakeholders and get 409A valuations; employees use it to view their holdings and exercise stock options; fund managers use its fund administration to track and manage their funds. Carta is registered with the SEC as a transfer agent.

What an outage looks like

app.carta.com loads slowly or returns errors, or one feature fails while the rest works: on September 23, 2026 securities drafts, issuance and reports broke, and on June 27, 2025 users could not accept securities. Sign-in trouble shows up as Single Sign-On errors or SMS verification codes that never arrive. Carta's status page has a single component, app.carta.com, so the incident title is what says which part is affected.

What to do about it

Check status.carta.com and read the incident text, since every incident sits under the one app.carta.com row. Carta's past workarounds: refresh the browser once a fix is out, use app.carta.com in a web browser when the Android app is degraded, and choose the call phone option on the verification page when SMS codes fail. Contact support through Carta Help in the app; phone calls ask for your six-digit support PIN.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says Carta is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 17 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

Carta outage FAQ

Is Carta down or is it just my login?
Check status.carta.com first, because Carta posts sign-in incidents there too. On July 16, 2026 it reported errors for some users logging in through Single Sign-On, and on February 13, 2025 SMS verification codes failed for phones on AT&T because of a third-party vendor. If the status page is clear, the Help link at the bottom of Carta's login page opens its guide to troubleshooting login issues.
Does a Cloudflare outage affect Carta?
It has. On November 18, 2025 Carta said users might see intermittent issues with the Carta application because its vendor Cloudflare was having global issues, and it closed the incident about five and a half hours later once the upstream issues were resolved. On October 20, 2025 a service provider problem affected www.carta.com, and Carta routed that traffic to app.carta.com while it worked on a fix.
Does the Carta mobile app work when the website has problems?
Carta's incidents have mostly run the other way. On March 19, 2026 it reported degraded performance in the Android app, told affected users to use app.carta.com in a web browser instead, and said the iOS app was unaffected; the incident was resolved in under three hours. The status page has no separate row for the mobile apps, so read the incident text to see which one is affected.
How long do Carta outages usually last?
Recent incidents were mostly resolved within two hours. The September 23, 2026 partial outage affecting securities drafts, issuance and reports closed after about 80 minutes, errors on May 27, 2026 after just under two hours, and the June 25, 2024 investor systems outage after about 23 minutes. Planned maintenance is announced ahead: for December 11, 2025 Carta expected app.carta.com to be unavailable for about 5 minutes.
What does the check on this page measure?
It loads carta.com, Carta's public marketing website. It does not sign in, open app.carta.com, load a cap table or portfolio, or send a verification code. Carta treats the two separately: during two incidents on carta.com on July 14, 2021, Carta said app.carta.com kept working. A green result means the website answers, not that the application does.

How we measure this

  • We request Carta's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them. When you open this page and our last check is more than 30 minutes old, we check again on the spot; those checks update the verdict, never the availability figures.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. Our checks only change their verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where Carta publishes an official status feed we read it too, and the verdict is the worse of what it reports and what our checks see: a major outage of Carta itself is Down, trouble with one part of it is Degraded, problems at a few of a provider's many locations change nothing, and a security notice that marks nothing down is shown but changes nothing either. We check the feed every 3 minutes and read it again within minutes of any change to its incidents or components; a reading counts for 45 minutes after the last check that found nothing changed. The availability figures above are our measurement alone.
