Active Issue Alert – Blackbaud Luminate Online® - #000697219
Our engineers have implemented several changes and have mitigated the slow response times impacting a subset of our customers. We will continue to monitor throughout the day. Please continue to reference this page for updates. Next update will be at 2:00 PM ET.
A component listed here does not necessarily mean a full outage — large providers routinely report maintenance on individual locations. It only affects the verdict above when the vendor marks it major or critical and our own checks also saw Blackbaud fail from enough regions to rule out probe noise.
Blackbaud uptime
Measured from multiple regions every 6 hours. Percentages count only checks that returned an availability answer — 14 days measured so far. A dash means that window does not yet hold enough measured days to publish a figure.
30-day history
14-day clean streakReachability by region
Each region runs its own request from a different part of the world. A service can be up for one continent and down for another, which is usually the first sign of a routing or CDN problem.
What Blackbaud does
Blackbaud makes cloud software for nonprofits, schools, foundations and companies. Its products include Raiser's Edge NXT for fundraising and donor management, Luminate Online for online fundraising campaigns, Financial Edge NXT for fund accounting, Altru for arts and cultural ticketing, and student information, learning and enrollment systems for K-12 schools. Many products sign in through Blackbaud ID, and transactions are processed through Blackbaud Merchant Services and Payment Services.
What an outage looks like
Most incidents hit one product: staff get errors signing in or using features, intermittent slowness, or pages that time out. Past incidents show narrower faults: Financial Edge NXT modules unavailable with HTTP Failure Response errors, 504 errors from School API, Luminate Online sites timing out, card transactions failing in Payment Services, and email sent with broken DKIM signatures. A Blackbaud ID fault blocks sign-in to many products at once.
What to do about it
Open status.blackbaud.com and find your product; the page has 76 rows grouped by product line. Planned downtime is posted separately at maintenance.blackbaud.com, often overnight or early on weekend mornings Eastern time, so check it when a product is unavailable at those hours. Subscribe to an incident for email updates. Support chat runs weekdays 8:30 AM to 6 PM ET, and the login-help chat does not require signing in.
Is it down for everyone, or just you?
If this page says Blackbaud is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 17 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

How we measure this
- We request Blackbaud's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them.
- A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A
403or429means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage. - A single failing region is treated as probe noise. We only change the verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
- Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
- Where Blackbaud publishes an official status feed we read it too. An all-clear from the vendor can soften an unconfirmed degradation; a vendor-declared outage only worsens our verdict when our own checks corroborate it.
