Reachability by region

Each region runs its own request from a different part of the world. A service can be up for one continent and down for another, which is usually the first sign of a routing or CDN problem.

What Avery does

Avery makes printable labels, cards, dividers and name badges, and sells them alongside online design tools that place artwork onto an Avery template before printing. Small businesses use it for shipping and product labels, offices for badges and filing. The site handles both the design step and ordering, so an outage can interrupt a print run or a purchase.

What an outage looks like

avery.com fails to load or returns a server error, and the online design tool will not open a template or save changes. A project that was already open may refuse to export or print, and ordering stops at the cart or at checkout. The page on screen can look normal while every action that needs Avery's servers quietly fails.

What to do about it

Read status.avery.com. It is Avery's own status page, but it reports avery.com as a single uptime figure with no per-component breakdown, so it will not tell you whether the problem is the design tool, the store or the whole site. Establish that yourself by trying one action from each: load a template, then load a product page. Save or export anything open before retrying.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says Avery is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 18 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

Avery outage FAQ

Avery's status page shows no updates. Does that mean nothing is wrong?
Not necessarily. status.avery.com publishes a single uptime figure for avery.com rather than separate rows for the design tool, the store and checkout, and it only shows an entry when someone posts one. A failure confined to one part of the site can therefore leave the page looking quiet. The per-region measurement on this page is a second, independent reading of whether avery.com is answering.
Will I lose a label design I was working on?
It depends on whether the project had been saved before the failure, and Avery does not publish a guarantee covering work in progress, so treat unsaved work as at risk. If the design tool is still open on screen, export or print to PDF before reloading or navigating away. A reload is what usually discards state that was never sent to the server, so do not close the tab to refresh it.
Can I still print labels while Avery is down?
Yes, if you have the template. Avery stock is a physical product and your printer does not need avery.com, so a previously exported PDF prints normally during an outage. What you lose is the browser design tool and the ability to start a new layout from Avery's template library. Keeping a PDF of any layout you print regularly removes this dependency entirely.
Is Avery down for everyone or just me?
Compare more than one path before deciding. Try avery.com from a second network, such as a phone on mobile data, and from a different browser profile with extensions disabled, since ad blockers and corporate filtering both break design tools that load assets from several hosts. If every path fails the problem is upstream. The regional table on this page shows whether our probes reached the site from other locations.
Does an Avery outage affect an order I already placed?
An order that was already confirmed is recorded on Avery's side and does not need the website to stay up to be fulfilled. What an outage affects is placing a new order and checking on an existing one, because order lookup runs through the same site. If you were mid-checkout when it failed, check for a confirmation email before ordering again rather than assuming the order was lost.

How we measure this

  • We request Avery's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. We only change the verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where Avery publishes an official status feed we read it too. An all-clear from the vendor can soften an unconfirmed degradation; a vendor-declared outage only worsens our verdict when our own checks corroborate it.
