Components the vendor reports as affected: Autodesk account Under Maintenance

A component listed here does not necessarily mean a full outage — large providers routinely report maintenance on individual locations. It only affects the verdict above when the vendor marks it major or critical and our own checks also saw Autodesk fail from enough regions to rule out probe noise.

Reachability by region

Each region runs its own request from a different part of the world. A service can be up for one continent and down for another, which is usually the first sign of a routing or CDN problem.

What Autodesk does

Autodesk builds 3D design, engineering and construction software, and runs a cloud platform alongside it: AutoCAD Web, Autodesk Docs, Autodesk Drive, Forma and BIM Collaborate. Architecture, engineering and manufacturing teams depend on it for sign-in, licensing and shared project data, so an Autodesk incident reaches desktop seats and not only the browser-based products.

What an outage looks like

Sign-in to your Autodesk account fails, which then blocks desktop products that validate a licence at launch. AutoCAD Web and Autodesk Docs stop loading drawings, or load a project and fail on save. BIM Collaborate stops syncing between team members, so people carry on working from stale models. The Autodesk online store and support site can be affected independently.

What to do about it

Check health.autodesk.com and find your region: Autodesk lists BIM Collaborate, Content Catalog and Forma separately for Australia, Canada, the European Union, Germany, India, Japan and the UK, so the global entry can look healthy while yours is not. Avoid forcing repeated syncs on a shared model during an incident, because that is how conflicting versions appear.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says Autodesk is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from all 18 regions to find out where it breaks.

Autodesk outage FAQ

Is Autodesk down or has my licence expired?
A lapsed licence gives the same message consistently and shows in your Autodesk account. An outage blocks the sign-in that the licence check depends on, so the product reports a licensing problem when the subscription is fine. Check health.autodesk.com for Autodesk account before contacting a reseller, because the two failures look almost identical from inside the application.
Does AutoCAD keep working if Autodesk is down?
Desktop AutoCAD generally keeps running once it has launched and validated, because drawings on your own disk do not need Autodesk's servers. The exposure is the next launch, and anything cloud-backed: Autodesk Docs, Drive and shared project data. AutoCAD Web is entirely dependent, so a browser session stops working straight away while an open desktop session may not.
Why does Autodesk report status by region?
Autodesk runs BIM Collaborate, Content Catalog and Forma as separate regional deployments and lists them individually for Australia, Canada, the European Union, Germany, India, Japan and the UK. An incident usually affects one. Reading the wrong region is the most common way to conclude that Autodesk is healthy when your own project data is not.
Will an Autodesk outage lose my BIM Collaborate changes?
Changes already synced and confirmed are stored. Work done locally while sync was failing stays on your machine and uploads when the service recovers, which is usually fine for one person but can produce conflicting versions when several people edit the same model through an incident. Coordinate before anyone force-syncs, and review the model history afterwards.

How we measure this

  • We request Autodesk's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — 8 of them answered the most recent check.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. We only change the verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where Autodesk publishes an official status feed we read it too. An all-clear from the vendor can soften an unconfirmed degradation; a vendor-declared outage only worsens our verdict when our own checks corroborate it.
