Reachability by region

Each region runs its own request from a different part of the world. A service can be up for one continent and down for another, which is usually the first sign of a routing or CDN problem.

What 7shifts does

7shifts is a restaurant team management platform founded in 2014 and based in Saskatoon, Canada. Managers use it to build schedules, track clock-ins through 7punches or a connected POS, pool tips and run payroll, and staff use its iOS and Android apps to see shifts, swap them and clock in. When it fails, the schedule, the time clock and the payroll export can all stop at once.

What an outage looks like

The web app or the mobile app will not load, or loads without content. Recent incidents have looked like a 'No Access to Company' error on mobile login in August 2026, an intermittently loading scheduling page, and iOS content failing on one app version. The status page tracks App, API, Webhook Delivery, 7shifts Payroll, Tip Payouts, SMS Notifications and each POS integration separately, such as Toast or Square.

What to do about it

Check status.7shifts.com and find the row that matches what broke, since a single POS integration can fail while the app works. Keep staff clocking in: 7shifts says the 7punches punch pad stays usable without a connection and syncs punches once it reconnects. Do not clear the app cache on that device, which can lose stored punches. If only one app version fails, update the app.

Is it down for everyone, or just you?

If this page says 7shifts is up but it is not loading for you, the problem is between you and them. Run a check against any URL from up to 17 cities across three regions to find out where it breaks.

7shifts outage FAQ

Is 7shifts down for everyone or just me?
Check status.7shifts.com first, because 7shifts often has partial problems rather than full outages. Its page lists the web App, API, Webhook Delivery, Payroll, Tip Payouts, the iOS and Android apps and each POS integration on separate rows. Several recent incidents hit only some users, such as a mobile login error in August 2026 and an iOS problem limited to one app version in July 2026.
Can employees still clock in when 7shifts is down?
Probably, on 7punches, though 7shifts documents this for a lost internet connection rather than a server outage. When the time clock device loses its connection, the punch pad stays accessible and employees clock in by choosing their Department and Role, and punches sync automatically when the connection returns. Punches from unscheduled staff or with the wrong role are emailed to the Admin for manual entry.
Will offline punches be lost?
Not if the device keeps its data. 7shifts says punches made offline are stored on the time clock device and synced once internet access is restored, but clearing the device or app cache before then may delete them, leaving a manager to add them by hand in Time Clocking. Leave the tablet or phone alone until it has synced, then review the day's punches.
Does a 7shifts outage affect my POS time clock?
It can if you use Punch Enforcement. With that feature, 7shifts syncs published shifts to your POS, and the POS checks them before letting an employee clock in. If shifts fail to sync, scheduled staff can be blocked until a manager overrides. The Schedule page shows a Shift Sync icon, green when synced and red when shifts have not reached the POS.
Why did my 7shifts app stop loading after an update?
Sometimes the fault is in one app release, not the service. In July 2026 content stopped loading in the 7shifts iOS app on version 2026.27.0, and the fix shipped in version 2026.27.2 through the App Store. If the web app works but the mobile app does not, check the status page's iOS App and Android App rows and install the latest version.

How we measure this

  • We request 7shifts's public endpoint every 6 hours from Fly.io regions across six continents — the most recent check ran from 8 of them.
  • A region counts as down only when it gets no usable HTTP response. A 403 or 429 means the origin answered and refused us, which we report as blocked, never as an outage.
  • A single failing region is treated as probe noise. We only change the verdict when two consecutive cycles agree.
  • Response times average only the regions that actually served the page, so a timeout never inflates the number.
  • Where 7shifts publishes an official status feed we read it too. An all-clear from the vendor can soften an unconfirmed degradation; a vendor-declared outage only worsens our verdict when our own checks corroborate it.
