Getting Started with FlareWarden

Get your first monitor running in under 2 minutes. This guide walks you through creating an account, setting up your first monitor, and understanding your dashboard.

Create Your Account

Sign up for a free FlareWarden account. No credit card required.

  1. a. Go to Sign Up and enter your email address
  2. b. Create a secure password (at least 8 characters)
  3. c. Check your email for a verification link and click it to activate your account

Create Your First Monitor

Once logged in, you'll land on your dashboard. Click "Add Monitor" to create your first uptime monitor.

  1. a. Name: Give your monitor a friendly name (e.g., "Company Website")
  2. b. URL: Enter the full URL to monitor (e.g., https://example.com)
  3. c. Check Interval: Choose how often to check (30 seconds to 1 hour)
  4. d. Click "Create Monitor" and you're done!

Tip: Start with 5-minute intervals to get a feel for the system. You can always change this later.

Understanding Your Dashboard

Your dashboard shows all your monitors at a glance. Here's what the key indicators mean:

UP

Your site is responding normally

DEGRADED

Some regions report issues

DOWN

Your site is not responding

Click on any monitor to see detailed check history, response times, and incident logs.

Configure Your Alerts

By default, you'll receive email notifications when monitors go down and recover. You can customize this in Settings.

  • Incident started notifications
  • Recovery notifications
  • SSL certificate expiry warnings

For advanced integrations, you can set up webhooks to connect with Slack, Discord, PagerDuty, or any other service.
